Personal experiences and feelings visualised in sketches by José.
Notes from class:
- Decolonize knowledge, listen, demand attention, decolonize your body and the control of it
- Use socratic question method
Here you can find the process of adding keywords and topics after talking with each other. The left picture is made after only adding the words that came to mind, while the right one is an expansion originated after a conversation about the subject.

New (created after making list of 35)
Does intuition have to do with consciousness?
Do you need to be intuitive to live in the society?
Charlotte's answers:
3. How is the feeling of intuition communicated / transferred to you?
The best I can explain it is kind of a mix between a gut feeling and that I constantly have to think about it. It depends on the situation, but mostly it is a gut feeling.
7. Do you think intuition has to do with age or gender?
I don’t know. I do think that maybe women tend to listen more to their intuition than men. I do think age has to do with it. The more you learn throughout your life, the more you learn to listen to your intuition (in my perspective).
I don’t recall to really have a real intuition where I listened to when I was younger. I think it develops.
10. Should you always listen to your intuition?
I don’t think so. When you look at my panic attacks for instance. When that happens, my intuition tells me to do something else then what is good. Like my my intuition tells me not to drive a car, but I know I want to be able te drive a car. And for me to do so, I have to go through that panic attack, even though my intuition tells me otherwise.
18. How do you explain your intuition?
I think a lot of the times I’ve been right (apart from the text above) but I didn’t want to be right so I didn’t listen to it. Only to find out I should’ve. So it can be a complex thing for me not really knowing when to listen to it and when not.
29. Is it a bad thing to ignore your intuition?
I don’t think so. Sometimes it is, probably. Maybe to prevents things from happening or getting hurt. But like I said, when it comes to something like a panic attack, it’s it not a bad thing to ignore it.
35. Can intuition be proven?
I really don’t know. I think only when you follow your intuition and you’ve been right.
Does intuition have to do with consciousness?
I do think so. I think it goes together. Or I do think when you’re conscious you listen to your intuition more than when you’re not.
Do you need to be intuitive to live in the society?
I think it can help in a way. I don’t think it’s impossible to live in this society without an intuition. But it definitely, definitely helps.
Laura's answers:
3. How is the feeling of intuition communicated / transferred to you?
I can feel it physically, with this I mean, when I do something that’s against my intuition, there’s a big chance I’ll get stomach pains, or high breathing or shaking or not being able to eat. I can start feeling anxious, not always but sometimes.
7. Do you think intuition has to do with age or gender?
I don’t necessarily think so, but I do feel like maybe women tend to think more about what they do and why they do it, so that they might be more aware of their intuition. While men are also intuitive but don’t really think about it that much. I personally (as a woman but idk if other women have this) most of the time find it harder to make decisions, because I tend to doubt a lot about if I want or don’t want something. While man are like, no I don’t want this or yes I do want this.
10. Should you always listen to your intuition?
Only when you feel safe when you do this. You shouldn’t confuse intuition with anxiety, but sometimes these feelings tend to intertwine and create doubts. I think your intuition is almost always right, but you really must consider, is this intuition or anxiety?
18. How do you explain your intuition?
I just say, I feel like this, or it’s just a feeling. I have been in situations where people want an explanation at moments when I don’t have one. Then I tell them it’s a feeling and when they don’t understand I try to make some words out of it but most of the time this doesn’t work out, so they just must accept the fact that I don’t have an explanation.
29. Is it a bad thing to ignore your intuition?
I think the only person who must live with the consequences of not listening to your intuition is yourself. If you felt you shouldn’t do something, but you still do it, there might be a big chance of not feeling great after. It’s not bad, but it can be a disappointment to yourself, which might make you feel bad.
35. Can intuition be proven?
There are probably tests that can be done in which you can discover your capability of being intuitive but proven….? I think human feelings are not something that can’t be proven nowadays.
Does intuition have to do with consciousness?
I don’t think necessarily, because you can still follow your feelings even though you don’t think about them, it can happen naturally.
Do you need to be intuitive to live in the society?
No, I think you can survive well without being intuitive. Maybe your life would be easier, because you just do things and let it happen and move on. Instead of having to weigh up everything against each other.
Daphné's answers:
3. How is the feeling of intuition communicated / transferred to you?
Through my thoughts, i see it as a gut feeling I can’t ignore.
7. Do you think intuition has to do with age or gender?
I believe it could have to do with gender and age. The older you get the better you understand yourself and your emotions so the more I believe you could sense your intuitive thoughts. Gender-wise I believe that nowadays because of male expectations in society they could possibly be less in touch with their emotions, which leads to them maybe not listening to their intuition or not even sensing it to begin with.
10. Should you always listen to your intuition?
Same answer as question 29
18. How do you explain your intuition?
I find it hard to explain as it is nothing physical and depends on each person. To me it’s like a thought that might contradict what is going on in that specific situation or not but is more or less confirming or denying what is going on and even goes into more specific details.
29. Is it a bad thing to ignore your intuition?
It could be a bad thing but also a good thing depending on what your intuition is telling you and if these thoughts have disappointed you in the past. If they haven’t been wrong, I don’t see why you couldn’t trust them.
35. Can intuition be proven?
Intuition is an abstract subject guided by personal experience, as it is all about feeling I find it hard to prove this in a technical manner. Would there be an intuition scale?
José's answers:
- Two voices in my head pose a desicion to make between two or more things, and there’s most logic sounding choices but also choices that feel like they’re the best to take
- From what I can see sometimes it feels like intuition is linked or recognized more with one gender than the other, but ultimately I think it balanced between genders, though also I think with age you become more intuitive and maybe females develop it more when they become mothers, so maybe it grows in them, but Im not saying that one gender has more that the other
- I think sometimes you should not listen to your intuition because it may just be an unnecessary worry, but since intuition usually wants the best for you it will probably not hurt to constantly listen to it, unless that intuition pursuades you to do something more extreme
- I think its kind of hard to explain your intuition because it might just be a feeling that you have about yourself about how strongly you experience it at certain times, while that might not be true. But I think anyone can think of examples of when they felt intuitive and thata way to explain it
- I dont think its a bad thing to ignore your intuition, especially if its in case of preventing a bad thing because sometimes it can be excessive and you can recognize a pattern where it was unnecessary so you can probably ignore it
- I constantly feel like intuition cant really be proven, at least with most people, maybe more special people in which other people can see how intuitive that person is, then you could say that person has a proven stronger intuition than others
- It may have to do with consciousness but I think only a certain part of it, so not always, other parts may happen more automatically or quicker in the moment and that moment passes quickly and you dont think about it, but when you’re conscious of it, it may feel more difficult to make a choice
- I think the way society is it requires you in certain ways and to a certain extend to be intuitive, because in some cases more extreme than others and depending on the person, it can lead to ostrisizing and bullying problems that make someone feel socially isolated or incapable, there is understanding for people with less intuition that rely maybe more on logic, but its harder to find sometimes.
After answering the questions we formed by trying the socratic method we have some concept ideas for the final body map:
1. Photos with additionally a sentence/a word that enforces the visual, that way it is easier to understand for an external viewer. The pictures would represent intuition in a visual manner.
2. Photos with a sound to metaphorically show that you could listen to your intuition.
3. A stationary video with a sound to metaphorically show that you could listen yo your intuition.

-On tuesday when I was biking back from school I had a choice to make, I wanted to do groceries but also was thinking of bringing my bags back to the apartment before that, which is a small detour from going to the supermarket. I first decided to go the supermarket right away, for that, I was coming to a crossroad that I needed to turn at to go to the supermarket, where it was hard to make a turn left because of the cars next to me, so I thought I could go into a street next to me that would help me later be in a better position to cross that section, which would take me a bit longer, but would eventually benefit me and save me the difficult and slightly dangerous crossing manouvre. halfway along that parallel road I took I ended up deciding to go home first, which resulted in me arriving just when some packages were being delivered to my roommate, who wasnt home, so I was able to receive them. In the end it was a good choice to follow my intuition of going home first.

For me my intuition, I cant always trust it, but I learn from it every day, when I make mistakes in situitions if I followed my intuition, I learn for the next time
Intuition has to do with the brain too, its linked with identity and feelings, state of mind, you can train this, become more spontaneous, more intuititive
-Diary of my personal intuition (Vlog or Blog)
-Something with video in general
-when you document these things they make more sense too and you process the situations better by writing them down

Dinja's answers:
- I notice the communication of my intuition the most when there is something negative. I can feel it by sudden shivers, high heart rate, sweating, chaotic mind and a feeling in my stomach
- Age and gender both can have an influence on the effect and even the strength of the intuition. A child operates mostly from intuition because they haven’t learned logic yet. The female could have more ease listening to her intuition than the male, simply because it’s dominant within her female body. Just as logic is dominant to operate from in the male body. But in general, neither of these elements should define the concept of intuition because in the end it’s a very personal matter on how much you have practiced working with this during your life span.
- I don’t think so because i feel like intuition and logic should be equaly balanced. Just like everyone has male en female energy, both should be acknowledged and practiced.
- Intuition is a feeling of some presens, that is not physically there. For example: you could have a sudden feeling for a person without knowing why or what. But you still feel or maybe even ‘know’ that there’s something wrong or right about the situation.
- When your intuition is right it is suggesting how to operate on to the best outcome for you. If you ignore this it doesn’t necessarily mean something bad wil happen, it only means you won’t receive your most convenient result. But I guess if you keep ignoring it, then things start to turn ugly..
- Yes, I do think this is possible. I also think that in the past many people have already proven this in their everyday life. Just like the mother can feel that there is something right/wrong with their child, without seeing them or having heard from the doctor. Some are 100% sure about their babys gender without having any proof of it.
- Yes, it has to do with consciousness because if you aren’t aware of your intuition coming to the surface, or aren’t aware of it's existence, you wouldn’t know how to use it or listen to it. But the source of intuition lies within the unconscious so both factors play an important role.
- For survival within THIS society, no you don’t need to be intuitive for that, because society has not been build in consideration of intuition. But life in general could definitely be much easier and more fun when intuition is practiced.

tracking down moments where my intuition spoke to me, and then showing the outcome
day 1
I went to buy lunch and I really wanted an avocado. When I saw them, I had this feeling that they would be too ripe. But they all looked good so I decided to still buy one. After I got home, I cut it open and my intuition was right unfortunately.
day 2
I wanted to make something in my dummy but I didn't know what. I kept thinking and then remembered our intuition project, which inspired me to make a drawing based on pure intuition and feeling without thinking. This is the result.
day 3
I had a dream about this old classmate which a haven't seen in a while. And only a few days later I saw her walking down the street!
day 4
I woke up a little bit tired this day. And I didn't know what to do or how to spend my day. Still hardly awake and without thinking, I walked outside into my garden to sit in the sun. Only later I noticed my cat laying next to me, completely relaxed and enjoying the moment. It reminded me that I should be relaxed as well, today has just started and there is nothing to worry about yet. After, the rest of my day went smoothly and calm while still being productive.

Thursday 19/05/2022
When I arrived to school to work, I had a couple of choices to sit, I could sit downstairs at the tables, or I could sit upstairs at the interaction station. I felt like it would be best to sit upstairs as it was less noisy, and it was my trusty sitting spot where I spent most of my days during the previous practice.
I made the choice to sit upstairs and two things happened. First Brigit, who assisted me during my previous practice, wanted me to send her footage of my result from that practice to show to people on monday about what we do with VR at our academy. This is a great chance for exposure and sharing my projects with others.
Secondly a grad student who also assisted me, and is making a VR project himself, recruited me to help him with modeling on his project for these coming weeks, which is a great chance to use the 3D modeling skills I have gained, and to keep learning about it. So my intuition did bring me good things this time.

Science and intuition
Today, intuition is a legitimate subject of scientific inquiry. There’s no denying intuition exists. Countless well-known people acknowledge it and there are intuitive people who show signs and ‘live’ it.
In terms of psychology, what does intuition mean?
Intuition definition psychology wise: “the productive influence of non-conscious emotional information on an otherwise unrelated decision or judgement” per one group of researchers in the absence of a concise scientific definition.
Another definition, in the field of social cognition: “The ability to implicitly learn and detect cognitive patterns, and to subconsciously combine information in complex ways to make correct judgments based on fragmentary cues “.
To a person in the street, intuition is a ‘gut feeling’, an ‘inner voice’ or a ‘sixth sense’.
As far as science goes, is intuition real? Does intuition exist? Are there any scientific studies that can explain intuition?
Scientific research on intuition is limited. But can intuition be measured?
Now, a team of researchers from the University of New South Wales has come up with a novel technique demonstrating just how much unconscious intuition can inform — and even improve — our decision-making. The research team — psychological scientists Galang Lufityanto, Chris Donkin, and Joel Pearson
In 2016, one study claimed to have measured intuition1. The experiment involved participants treated with an exposure of emotion-provoking images of which they were unaware but with which they appeared to use to make fast and accurate decisions. Their responses also improved with time, indicating an avenue existing to develop intuition.
Additional evidence for intuition came from participants’ physiological data. In one experiment, the researchers measured participants’ skin conductance — an indicator of physiological arousal — as they made decisions about the swarm of dots. In an exciting finding, the researchers observed that skin conductance predicted behavioral intuition; that is, even when people weren’t aware of the images, their bodies showed a physiological reaction to the emotional content of the stimuli.
The authors confirmed the existence of three types of intuitive abilities.
Based on the 2018 work of Sobkow
1. ‘I Know Something. However, I Do Not Know The Source Of This Knowledge’
This is Coherence and Insight: IQ strongly correlates with this type of intuition. According to the study, this was “associated with an ability to subconsciously combine information stored in long-term memory to make correct judgments based on fragmentary cues”.
2. ‘I Do Not Know That I Know Something’
Implicit Learning is the intuition type where someone can “spontaneously learn and detect cognitive patterns”.
More on pattern thinking later.
3. ‘I Think That I Know Something’
Subjective Intuitive Abilities: This category relates to the people who like to daydream and “have highly vivid and creative mental imagery, are open to new experiences (e.g. seeking new places and eating unusual food), and are intellectually curious (e.g. enjoy puzzles and philosophical debates)” and show a preference for intuition. Show of hands…Is this you?
Jose Note:
Do we think intuition maybe controls our lives in a bigger way, our power of attraction? That which some call fate or destiny, like the people you meet and friends you make, is that all caused by intuition? For example in January I got to know some of my best friends now by a mere tiny chance that I had control over, or maybe rather my intuition led me to them. If I had not decided then to ask them to be a team in a project, I would not know them as well as I do right now. For that Im really thankful, and think back of how scary my intuition can be, because one choice to follow or ignore it can make a huge difference down the line.
With our project, we focus on the positive and fascinating aspects of intuition, in order to understand it better. For that we research on studies of intuition, and we study our own!
For this we are currently documenting our own perceptions of when our intuition comes forward in our daily lives. Even just the smallest moments that seem insignificant. Everything helps us to further develop our idea for a final deliverable.
Jose intuitionj day 3 blog:
Today it was raining right when I left to go for school. As it wasnt too much when I left I decided to not get on the first subway stop in order to evade the rain, but to keep going till school because it wasnt far. But it suddenly started to rain more, and along the way I also passed by a supermarket, and last minute decided to stop there to dry up a bit and buy food that I still needed to. I think my intuition spoke to me here to better make the stop, but also not sure if it might have been logic. At least when I came out of the supermarket I was able to walk under some balconies along the street to avoid rain for a bit, which did benefit me after making the choice to stop.

Intuition diary:
I often experience intuition in a lighthearted manner. The way I eat and take care of myself is all monitored by my intuition. Although I did have some more specific intuitional experiences recently.
1) When going on a walk I ended up in a little street that was a little more quiet and isolated, there was an older man there just wandering around. I was immediately wary because of the way he was acting. When I realized he was circling around a 'Swapfiets' that clearly wasn't his it all started making sense. He waited until I walked away from that part of the street to go back to the bike. My intuition told me to continue and not interfere with the situation, I had an idea that me saying or doing something about it could've lead to something I didn't want. I do still believed he, at least attempted, to steal it.
2) When in a conversation with a friend it was very clear that whatever the person was saying didn't fit with their actual feeling on the situation. I could see right though it and when I told the person that I felt they weren't being honest with themselves, they agreed and laughed at the fact that I knew them so well.
3) This weekend I worked at a merchandising stand of a festival. I was talking to a couple who were interested in purchasing a hoodie but they seemed unsure because of the price. They asked me to take of my hoodie (merch) and when I denied they tried to convince me to ask my colleague to take off his hoodie. I had an intuitional bad feeling about them so I told them I will not be doing son I thought they were going to take the hoodie and then walk away without purchasing it. They seemed quite upset but I stuck with my decision without regret looking back at the situation.
I started off by typing "intuition" in the search bar of the NPO site to see if there were any interesting docu's I could watch. Then I saw a series called "Prikkels", where one episode was about intuition, so I watched this and wrote down words they were saying that i also felt connected with within my own definition of intuition.
Prikkels - NPO docu
Notes:
- intuition is information transfer / psychic information transfer
- you could say that intuition has to do with being able to pick up signals from other people from the outside. There is a paranormal and inexplicable side of intuition.
- combination of acquired knowledge and experience
- intuition is elusive for science
My intuition has always been a very important tool for me. It let me make some important decisions in life. This doesn't mean I always listen to my intuition. Not because I dont trust it, but because sometimes I don't want it to be right. My gut feeling might tell me something's wrong, but because I want it not to be, I ignore the signs. I do feel like I'm becoming more and more aware of my intuition and how it can bring help me foward.
Diary:
This morning a friend of mine had called me. Since a while it feels like when she needs something from me she'll contact me but if she doesn't she won't. I didn't pick up the phone but I saw on my screen that she'd sent me a message whether she could borrow my bike. I decided not to answer because it annoyed me and I was still in bed. But my gut feeling told me she was coming to my house to get the bike even though I hadn't replied to her. It was only a few minutes later when the doorbell rang..
I also have a questionable subject for myself. It's a weird thing I've been doing for as long as I can remember. Every day and every moment I feel a certain kind of way, the thing is that I'm very alert of this. So when I drink my coffee in the morning I "feel" which cup I feel like drinking from, and which spoon I "feel" like using at that moment. I don't know whether this has something to do with intuition or with something else, but still I felt like writing it down.
Research note:
Spinoza (1677), determined three types of knowledge, 1: opinion and imagination, 2: reason and lastly 3:intuitive knowledge, and concluded that intuitive knowledge is the most powerful of the three. So might it be more influencial in our lives than we know? If already back then it was decided how big of a role it plays in our lives.
But in 1921 by Jung was it more emphasized and analyzed how real and certain intuitive knowledge is, as he also came up with four psychological functions: thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuition.
And in 1946 did Bergson also argue that intuition is the superior form of knowledge between all.

Form of materialization, next direction:
1: work with norms and values of society and its perception of intuition about it, negative and positive, let people feel the emotions
2: work with the senses and negative and positive too, for example boxes to feel something in, to relive a personal experience in it, let it remember you of something you felt, experienced, sensed sometime in the past, you relive your intuition and reflect on it again, and maybe understand it better.
3: implementation of audio, only after having experimented with your sense of intuition.
For Jose: TAKE CARE OF MAPPING OF INTERACTION STATION AND HAVING ENOUGH SPACES, TALK TO NAN WANG ABOUT THIS
Because I have been working on the subject of 'intuition' for quite a while in the past, I've already established a nice definition for myself about it. That is why I started researching studies that have examined intuition and even scientifically tested it. There was one study that came out with strong results. This has given me a lot of inspiration in creating our own 'intuition test'.
What if…
We can test our intuition, through environmental influences and triggering the human senses.
Example: Two boxes, with a hidden object, each.
- The person pre-selects a box
(does not know which is which!!)
- The person enters and observes the room
- The person listens to the additional audio
- The person feels inside the box
- The person comes out and shares their experience with the box
Result:
Both boxes contain the same object !!!!
Those who chose the 'dark box' will most likely have had a negative experience.
Those who chose the 'light box' will most likely have had a positive experience.
And yet, both persons have touched the same object with a very different encounter to it.
The moral of the story of this intuition test is:
We all have agreed on the fact that intuition is mostly influenced from the outside, the environment, things that happen near us, things we see or hear etc.
We have all had or moments where our intuition spoke to us. But it did not matter whether we listened to it or not. It doesn't mean something good or something bad willen happen to you. Because what truly matters = your experience with it!!!
Points from our group meeting,
processed and presented within this;
- following intuition (making the choice between boxes)
- Influences from outside (changed environment)
- Triggering human senses
- Logic vs intuition (audio vs the box)
- power play
1. Dark box
- Dark environment = vision
(black curtains?)
- Dark audio = hearing
(negative story telling?)
- Bad smell = scent
- Scary touch = feeling
(cold object?)
2. Light box
- Bright environment = vision
(white curtains, much light?)
- Light audio = hearing
(positive story telling?)
- Nice smell = scent
- Nice touch = feeling
(warm object?)

Reasoning on why we should only make 1-2 pieces for the project:
Its about all your senses working together and shaping your intuitive feeling (1 piece instead of multiple)--> see all the members of the group as individual senses working together on shaping an intuition

How we can translate the intuitional story into a physical sensorial piece
DEFINE INTUITION AS A GROUP FOR OURSELVES!!!!!!!!
Charlotte's notes
As we came up with some questions, I decided to research the parts where we questioned ourselves if intuition also has to do with gender or not. Do females (of males) have more intuition? Or does it seem like women had more intuition because they might show it more ofter?
The first interesting thing I found is the article which says the following: ‘And contrary to common belief, it's not just women who harbor this mysterious instinct. "Men can be powerfully intuitive -- they have the same capabilities as women," says Orloff. "But in our culture, we view intuition as something that's warm and fuzzy, or not masculine, so men have often lost touch with those feelings.” American women, on the other hand, are encouraged to be receptive to their inner thoughts, so it appears that they have more intuition than men, says Orloff. "The reality is, girls are praised for being sensitive while boys are urged to be more linear in their thinking rather than listening to their feelings," she says.’ - (https://www.webmd.com/balance/features/power-of-female-intuition - Colleen Oakley)
But if I dive further into this subject, I found the following:
‘Women tend to have more developed left zones specific to speech and verbal processing. The feeling-oriented feminine brain has acquired the stereotype of being more verbal and superior at articulating a complex feeling nature. To some extent, the structure of their brains gives them advantages in this area.
Men, on the other hand, are more adept at the right-brained things like logic (without emotion), slower but step-by-step processing, taking action to produce an outcome or result. While it’s not quite that clear-cut, there are more similarities between our different brains than differences. We merely have different specializations, though this does not take individual brains into account.’ - (https://synctuition.com/blog/women-intuitive-men/ - Synctuition)
Later I found an article written by Joe Perreta who is a psychic medium from Manhattan:
‘On its deepest level, no. I think intuition is a human thing. In fact, I think it’s a living thing. Animals exhibit intuition as well. However, I do think that in our culture, especially in America, gendered intuition has its own identities. Intuition comes from a place of feeling. We call it claircognizance. That’s when we say, “I just felt like this was going to happen.” It’s not a rational line of thinking. To connect with that type of intuition, you have to be very aware of your emotions and feelings as they occur. If men start shutting down their feelings or deflecting the emotions, it can end up shutting down their intuition. It’s probably why so many of the psychics and mediums in our community are women.’ - (https://goop.com/wellness/spirituality/male-vs-female-intuition/ - Joe Perreta)
I seems like the are two explanation for why men seem to rely less on their intuition than women (seem emphatically). ‘Men, on the other hand, are more adept at the right-brained things like logic’ so they might rely more on logic and woman more on their intuition.
Although I know a lot of guys who rely on their intuition. I asked them what they think of this and they said that they think it’s also something men don’t really show and it’s not a masculine thing to do. So I things it is a combination of both things.
DIARY:
When I talked about intuition with the group, I remember one occasion where I really relied on my instinct and that I want also very aware of that. I was walking my dog in a park ear by my house. This park it between a train track and some water. So you can also enter or exit on two sides. When I walked into the first part I noticed that a man was kind of moving with me. So when I walked, he walked too and when I stopped, he stopped too. Normally I am the kind of person who doesn't think twice about these kind things, but this time I had a very bad feeling.
I was a little bit in doubt, but I thought that when he follows me into the park, I have no way to get back and have to go all the way to the front. So I turned around and left the park. I kept an eye on him and I saw that he was also leaving. I don't know what would have happened when I didn't trust on my intuition, but I'm glad I did.

Definitive plan and materials needed:
-element of reflection only after experience through our experience
-Theme: societal norms/expectations VS your intuition
-
meeting notes:
-from Jose: idea of letting people overthink about their trust in intuition and choice during experience
-how much context do we give people before the experience/experiment?
-combine each others ideas but keep it simple. Start simple and flesh out meaning from there
-have alternatives ready for ideas in case we dont have enough time for them, as long as the final result is the same
-idea of short self reflexion after your experience, make people think about it like we did
-think of ways to put our stories together and map them
-together have a plan before workshop to define our intuition and map a bit better
-solid ideas for our presentation: create an experience to activate intuition in people, two sides experience, let people reflect afterwards
-make something achievable
-
finishing touches of materialization finish theory and prepare pres
meet up before workshop at around 12:00
work for today:
“In which box is the flower?”
Make a colorful one and a dark one with contradicting smells, have them choose and go to the other side of the box to see it they were right, have them fill in if their intuition was correct and what influenced it most, end with the conclusion of the senses shape your intuition (does it really need to be a complicated example to prove our point and definition of intuition?)
Societal norms/expectations VS intuition
-An analysation of our own intuitive stories instead of an inspiring lesson
-Difficulties that we all experience and don't have an answer to -> ask relevant questions
-There are no real answers, there are experiences, in which situations do they say something interesting?
-The only tool you have is your intuition
-Analyse your intuitive stories, what are the things that kick-start your intuition? Who wins, the societal norms or your intuition?
-Take a look into your own head when in an intuitive situation, what are your thoughts?
-Analyse the stories: dismantle them

Powerplay, Social Practice
Charlotte, Daphné, Dinya, José, Laura
When it comes to the powerplay of our own bodies, intuition is the dominant interest we all have in common. Before moving on to the impact of societal norms, we explored the influence of senses on our intuition. In this society, we make most of our decisions based on what is expected of us.
By definition, intuition is the ability to quickly comprehend or know something based on feelings rather than facts. We would like to expand on this statement by noting that outside stimuli have an impact on your inner intuitive feeling.
Therefore, are you more influenced by what society expects of you or by your intuition?
After experimenting with several ways to visualize our intuitive research, we came up with an interesting exercise that could prove to be useful for the development of our project. We came up with the idea of keeping track of specific cases in which we used intuition since it is an unconscious experience that plays a significant role in decision-making. We also gained a better understanding of each other's intuitive feelings by reading each other’s diaries. Our diaries were translated into five videos that demonstrate the powerplay between societal standards and intuition as we believe we are confronted with these scenarios on a regular basis. After sharing these experiences, we began to question the power dynamics that exist between intuition and many sectors, such as friendships, work, appointments, and so on.
We believe that this society is based on a set of expectations that have been followed for centuries. It is not developed keeping human instinct and possible intuitive behavior in mind. However, this should not limit you from countering such standards if you believe your intuition is more reliable.
Returning to our original question, are you more influenced by what society expects of you or by your intuition? It really is a personal decision. Every day, you must choose between two powers. And it's entirely up to you how much importance you attach to these norms and to your own intuition. There are no definitive answers, only personal experiences. To sum up, as a well-functioning participant in society, it is critical not to mindlessly accept societal standards. Remember that you may always use your intuitive feeling to challenge those conventions and don't be hesitant to put your intuition ahead of societal norms.
